Surface Slip Decor with Jeannine Calcagno - Non-Member

Students will learn about mixing colored porcelain slips using commercial stains and natural oxides on stoneware forms. Jeannine will demonstrate her decorative techniques and then each student will be provided with a leather-hard stoneware form to decorate themselves. 

Tubs and squeeze bottles of different colored slips will be available, along with many different types of brushes to experiment with. Students will also have access to the potter’s wheels to try out the spiral decor technique. There will be a short break for lunch.
