An outdoor adventure (to take place rain or shine) learning all about the artist Andrew Goldsworthy, of ''River and Tides'' fame. We will look at his work in the Presidio and attempt our own version of an outdoor installation.
To start and end at our studio at Geary & Commonwealth. We will travel by Muni bus to the Presidio site and back, and enjoy a brown-bag lunch and outdoor time.

A field trip to the de Young (to take place rain or shine) learning about the artist Vermeer, currently featured in their special exhibition. We will draw some similar studies focused on light and shadows back at our studio after the visit.

A Day in the Life—
Documentary Photography Workshop
Sunday March 10th, 1pm to 4:30pm & Friday March 15th, 5pm to 6:30pm
Discover the beauty, color, and life in your everyday routine through the lens of a camera. Using the casual disposable camera as our tool, we will learn about how we can use photography to tell a unique story. On the first day, take a photo walk with local artist Jaime Longa as we explore the cultural and vibrant streets of San Francisco and develop our own way of seeing our surrounding environment — observing colors, textures, compositions, movement, and light.
Upon returning to the studio for our final meeting, we will organize and orchestrate our photographs into an engaging narrative.

Maritime Sketching at Hyde Street Pier (age 7+) - Sun March 17th - Winter 2013
Learn to sketch boats and maritime life at the Hyde Street Pier on Sunday afternoon, March 17th from 2pm to 5pm.
Drop off will be curbside near the pier, so no need to park. This workshop will take place rain or shine and hot chocolate or hot cider will be included, along with a small snack.

Recycled Arts Spring Break Camp for ages 6 to 14 - March 25 to 29 -- 2013
The Sketch Collective will offer a Recycled Arts Camp for mixed ages (from 6 to 14) this spring break week (March 25 to 29) for those who are out of school. We will be using old, used, found, recycled and repurposed materials to create new, vibrant works of art. This camp will also include one or two museum trips, to the de Young and/or the Legion of Honor, and outdoor play and recreation time each day.
Hours: 9am to 1pm, starting and ending at our studio located at Geary and Commonweath.
Teacher/camper ratio is 1 to 4, 8 campers total. (Note: extended care before and after camp available by prior arrangement, for an additional fee.)
